Conex Bänninger has customers all over the world, and as such they need to be able to seamlessly browse the products available in their region in their preferred language. Previously, the websites for each country were separate entities and managed as such. Using WordPress’ multisite functionality combined with WPML, we were able to bring the content management across 9 regions and 7 languages into one system, streamlining their processes while offering the best possible experience for the end user.

Conex Bänninger is a global manufacturer and supplier of fittings and valves for plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. They needed an elevated and futureproof digital experience which would align websites for their separate global business units in one platform, ensuring consistency in messaging and simplified management of products.

Making product data management easy
A wide variety of products and fittings across multiple ranges and applications means that there’s a lot of product data to manage. We created a product database with importer functionality which would enable the Conex Bänninger team to upload and manage product data in bulk rather than manually adding thousands of products. Products can also be toggled as visible by region in the CMS – further streamlining the process.
Reusable blocks
Each site in the multisite system can be populated with completely bespoke content and languages. To keep everything visually consistent across all of the country sites, the Conex Bänninger multisite is based on a system of reusable blocks and components which enables them to build out page templates whilst maintaining visual consistency across the applications of the brand.
Helping the user find the right product
Conex Bänninger customers encompasses industry professionals, installers and distributors across a range of sectors, with differing levels of expertise. Not every user who lands on the site will know exactly what they’re looking for. We built a product selector which would enable the user to select the application, then set pressure, temperature and fitting type in order to suggest the right product for their project without them having to have in-depth knowledge of the range.
