Project background

Basel Area were embarking on a bold rebranding project with Lantern that aimed to clarify their positioning and reflect their new strategic direction. In tandem with our project for Basel Life Sciences Supercluster, we set out to create a digital experience that would showcase their offering, including advice and mentoring, networking and collaboration opportunities, and location services.

Design system

We worked with the new brand guidelines and interpreted them into a web-ready system of flexible components ensuring the BA team could create a range of pages and content to promote their services and the benefits of the Basel Area. We made sure to incorporate details into page and block designs like their suite of custom icons, graphics and unique typography to create a digital experience that brought the brand to life.

Multi-lingual

The BA website needed to cater for three main languages: English, German and French. We built and set up the site with the ability to add automated or manual translations in the WordPress CMS, and an easy-to-use language switcher in the frontend.

Events API Ingration

BA organises and hosts a number of events to facilitate networking and collaboration in the area. We helped the team to promote and manage these seamlessly by developing a custom integration between the WordPress website and Microsoft Dynamics 365, enabling them to pull events across and push registrations automatically back into the CRM.

SEO & AIO Strategy

The previous BA content ecosystem, split across three sub-domains, and while it performed well, was blurred in terms of priority and focus. We performed a thorough audit and analysis of their content, target audience and priorities to help guide the content structure and strategy to perform better on search engines and AI platforms.
